We visited for the first time the other day and were so impressed. A great range of produce and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The beef brisket was delicious and we're looking forward to trying everything else we bought!

Thank you so much. Meat is superb better than anything I have ever had. Service is fantastic and I love the fact that you always like to have a chat and you remember us. You don't get that kind of service anywhere else. Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

Thank you from Eva and Ember for their bones too they love them.

We are a small family-run farm shop butchery selling our own farm-reared, free-range beef, lamb and pork. We also make a range of burgers and sausages (including gluten-free) as well as our smoked and unsmoked gammon and bacon.

Grazing & Conservation
You may have seen our cattle grazing in Cambridge on Coe Fen and Lammas Land during the summer months. For the last 30 years or so, we have also rented approx 150 acres locally, increasing to around 200 acres these days.

The Breeds
The cattle are Aberdeen Angus and Hereford cross. We also have a new addition a pedigree Hereford Bull ‘’Laxfield Just the Job’’ but we call him Bay.

The cattle spend the spring and summer months grazing on rich water meadows pasture full of ancient grasses and seeds. Their winter months are spent in straw bedded sheds being fed on hay, straw, potatoes and sugar beet. The traditional old fashioned way of rearing cattle. These cattle are easy to work with and so produce a rich well marbled meat full of flavour.

The sheep and lambs are Claire’s own flock that she started herself, back in 2004 and are Poll Dorsets. Claire shears the sheep herself and spins the wool too.

The pigs are Large White Cross, which produce a rich, tasty meat.

All our home-produced lamb, beef and pork is competitively priced - download our price list here.
